Activities involved:

  • Validated multi-physics models using the measurement data from a multi-sensor system
  • Optimized of the cooling of key components of precision 5-axis machine tools
  • Measured the performance of precision manufacturing units using custom measurement procedures (R-Test, electronic levels)
  • Improved the precision of a large 5-axis machine tool exposed to external fluid media

MORe is a team at inpsire AG. We develop a simulation tool for the evaluation of the geometric, static, dynamic, and thermo-mechanical performance of machine tools.

Activities involved:

  • Developing and maintaining the thermo-mechanical Finite Element (FE) module
  • Implementing Model Order Reduction algorithms to reduce the computational effort of large thermo-mechanical FE-models
  • Managed a large, open-source software project (GIT version control, Agile software development)
  • Provided customer support
  • Promoted the use of the software in industry by writing blogs and updating the website
